On the site of the car crash there is a fire. The body of the man that was after Kim is covered in a tarp. Kim is sitting at the back of an ambulance being patched up. Renee is on the comm. with Chloe and they talk about getting more people on this. Chloe says they don’t need people they need to get lucky, the transmitter on the laptop is encrypted. Kim is coming over to see what is going on as Renee asks Chloe if she can source it. Chloe is working on it. Kim asks the same question and gets the same answer. Kim and Renee walk and Kim wants to know if there are any other leads, she is frustrated. Renee consoles her that this is a good lead and she’s the only reason that they have it. Kim stops and snaps that her father is dying and they don’t know how much time he has left.
Jack is trying to get away from Tony and Cara still. He is down on the ground trying to get under an industrial garage door. He doesn’t quite fit and pauses, grunting and then pushes the door up just a bit further. He rolls underneath and gets up heavily. He’s doubled over and having some trouble getting his feet to walk. He stumbles but makes it to a yellow cab. Jack tries the door but finds it locked so he heads over to a work bench. There are assorted things lying around including an extremely large wrench. Jack’s hands are still cuffed together but he gets the wrench up and goes over to the cab. He breaks the glass but Tony appears under the door. He unloads a couple of rounds in Jack’s direction and Jack takes cover behind the cab. Jack sees the automatic door opener hanging down and he rolls and comes up right by it. Jack presses the button and Tony has no choice but to pull back as the door comes down.
Jack pulls himself to his feet again and sees that one of the cabs is losing its fuel into a puddle on the ground. Jack thinks but is snapped out of it from a sound at the garage door. He looks and sees holes. Tony has found a mini forklift and is pulling the door up. Jack looks at the table with the tools and sees flares. He hurries over as the door comes up. Jack comes back and kneels down in the gasoline. With shaking hands he starts to try and ignite the flares. The door is up far enough and Tony gets in the garage. Jack finally gets the flare ignited but Tony is close enough to kick it from his hands almost right away. The fire goes flying and Jack is knocked over. He tries painfully to pull himself away but Tony is over him and grabs him by the collar. He uses his gun to knock Jack in the back of the head. Jack is unconscious and Tony drags him away from the fuel.
A knock comes at Olivia’s door and she calls them in. It’s Ethan and her expression sours when she sees him. She asks what he is doing there and he wants to finish the conversation they started. Pierce is in behind him and she wants Kanin escorted away. Pierce will not do that so she says she will call security. Kanin comes up and plays the recording for her of Olivia preparing to assassinate Hodges. Olivia wants to know how long Aaron has known, he admits he had his suspicions but he was hoping he was wrong. Pierce is going to wait outside and he closes the door. Once Pierce is gone, Olivia tries to tell Kanin that this isn’t the whole story but Kanin shuts her down reprimanding, ‘Oh save it, Olivia. You can’t talk your way out of it this time.’ She concedes to Kanin and agrees that she will resign, come up with some excuse and he will have his job back. This is not about Kanin’s job, it’s about the truth. Olivia says that the truth could destroy her mother’s presidency. Kanin is fully aware what this could do if it went public, she doesn’t have to spell it out for him. Kanin wants the President to take the next step with this, whether she decides to pursue this or bury it but she needs to know the truth. Ethan leaves it up to Olivia to tell her.
Tony has Jack handcuffed with his arms above his head to a chain link fence. Tony works on a laptop with his back to Jack. Jack talks to Tony, “I can’t believe you’re doing this.” Tony is unaffected and Jack continues, “You betray everything you ever worked for. I know you think this country failed you and I don’t care what kind of ideology you believe in now, this is no way to fight for it.” Jack heats up, “What you’re doing is wrong,” he raises his voice more, “This is wrong and you know it.” Tony still works on the laptop and Jack hangs his head, “Dammit, Tony, look at me!” Jack yells. Tony slowly turns and looks at Jack who asks, “Please, as someone who was once your friend, let me die in peace. Don’t let them use me to kill innocent people.” Jack lets his head hang again and Tony tells him, “I have no intention of letting them use you as the pathogen, Jack.” Jack looks up, hope in his eyes and Tony finishes calmly, “I never did.” Jack overheard Tony, this was his idea, he sold it to them. Tony doesn’t disagree, he nods and says, “It was just a play.” Jack echoes, “A play.” Tony clarifies, “To get the man who’s coming here right now.” Jack winces from the pain and Tony turns back around, “Took me three years to find him, took me another year to get him to meet me face to face.” Jack is in a great deal of pain now letting his arms hold him up while he breathes heavily and squints his eyes closed. Tony continues, “I had to prove myself to him by taking down Jonas Hodges, I had to convince him that I was a true believer in his cause.” Tony again turns to Jack and Jack asks what the hell Tony is talking about. Tony turns around and leans on the desk, “His name is Alan Wilson, he was the man behind Charles Logan.” At this, Jack’s head snaps up and he looks at Tony in surprise. Tony tells Jack, “He’s the one who ordered the hit on David Palmer and he had Michelle killed to cover his tracks. This is the man who murdered my wife Jack.” Jack is angry, “Everything that you’ve done today is for personal revenge?” Tony whispers, “It’s about justice.” Jack echoes him again and yells, “You killed innocent people, Tony.” Tony yells back, “Ten times as many people would have died if it hadn’t of been for me.” He works on something on the desk and Jack watches. “The deeper I dug to find the person responsible for Michelle’s death, the more I kept running into men like Jonas Hodges. They’re the ones with the crazy ideology, Jack, not me. I’m the one that had a plan to bring them down.” He is in front of Jack now as he winces again. “I enlisted Bill and Chloe to help me track all the elements of this group, and when I finally got what I wanted, they would turn them in and shut them down.” Tony focuses on Jack and points a finger at him, “But you screwed that all up, didn’t you Jack? You see, I’m the one who saved lives today, Jack, not you.” Tony steps closer and is inches away from Jack, finger pointing as he says, “I’m the one who helped you recover the CIP device, I’m the one who warned you about the White House attacks,” yelling now, Tony continues, “I’m the one who stopped Jonas Hodges from launching those missiles.” He’s in Jack’s face but Jack argues back angrily, “You tell yourself whatever you want, you launched a biological attack on Washington Centre Station and if we hadn’t gotten there in time, thousands of innocent people would have been killed.” Tony says, “I did what I had to do to get Alan Wilson here. And now, he’s going to die.” Tony leaves Jack and Jack says, “You kill him and no one will ever know the full extent of this conspiracy.” Tony faces Jack again and says quietly, “I’m not gonna kill him Jack.” Jack looks up and back down and Tony opens up a Velcro belt with explosives fastened to it, “You are.” Jack can’t do anything as Tony approaches and secures it around him. Jack quietly says, “Damn you, Tony, damn you.” Tony works on fastening it to Jack and tells him, “I’m sorry that it has to be you. Truth is they wouldn’t let me within 50 feet of the guy. You’re the one he’s coming for.” Tony stands and Jack whispers, voice faltering, “You’re not honouring Michelle’s life, you are revelling in her death and she would despise you for this.” A computer beeps behind Tony, its Cara coming up the alley. Tony turns to look and Jack watches angrily, his hands shaking above his head. Tony steps away and Jack grunts. Tony picks up his phone and enters the code into it, the pack around Jack’s midsection flashes a green light. Duct tape is put over Jack’s mouth and Tony zips up Jack’s jacket. Cara comes in and says they are clear. Tony asks when Wilson is coming. She says soon, he wants to see Bauer’s medical record. Tony says it’s over there. Jack breathes in deeply and Tony turns to look at him. Jack seethes at Tony.

Jack’s hands shake in his handcuffs which have been moved down to waist level. Tony and Cara are right there. He winces and Cara turns to Tony. She gets close to Tony and tells him quietly that Wilson doesn’t know about them and they should keep it that way, at least for now. Tony is icy and nods, ‘Sure.’ He looks at her and says, “I understand.” Cara sees the monitors and says that he’s there. Tony stares at Jack chained to the fence as Cara asks if he is ready. Tony says yeah. Cara glances back at Jack and leaves,
Tony stands for another few seconds and then follows her.
Two Hummer H2’s with a limo driving between them arrive at the site. A group of thugs get out of all the vehicles and take positions around a short perimeter. Cara and Tony come outside and Tony closes the door behind him. Wilson waits in his vehicle as one of the thugs come to Tony and Cara and tells them to put their hands on their heads. They both comply and 2 more thugs step up and search them. The both pull guns from them and show them to the others. They pull cell phones off of Tony and Cara as well and then hand them back before giving the all clear. Cara pockets hers but Tony keeps his in his hand. Wilson is given the all clear and steps out of the limo. Tony looks at him coolly and toys with his phone. Wilson takes a couple of steps over and he and Tony meet eyes. He gives the go ahead and Cara and Tony step forward but before they get far, Tony is stopped with a hand on his chest, ‘That’s far enough.’ Cara gets close to him and he greets her with a cool hello. She kisses him on the cheek and stands next to Wilson. She introduces Tony. Tony seems eager and says he’s been looking forward to meeting him. Wilson looks into Tony’s eyes and says he knows. He asks where Bauer is and Cara says inside, second door on the right. Tony pulls his keys out and hands them off saying he will need these. Wilson calls to Tony that Cara thinks he should be playing a larger role in their organization. Tony has been an asset. Tony, all eager beaver, thanks Wilson and says he believes there’s a lot more he can bring to the table. Jack is half dragged out of the building and led down the stairs. Tony sees this with an unreadable expression. Wilson wants to see the pathology report on Bauer. Cara has it, she shows it to Wilson on her cell. Tony waits and runs his thumb along the side of the phone as Wilson works through the report. Jack is brought out toward Wilson. He gets about half way there when a chopper is heard. Wilson looks and Renee’s voice comes over the speaker that it’s the FBI. Tony seems unhappy about this and Wilson grabs Cara and rushes her out of the way as his thugs shoot at the chopper. Shots ring out from overhead and men hit the ground. Tony starts running and Cara, ahead of Wilson, calls back to him. Tony grabs a gun off a dead thug and takes cover. He sees Cara and Wilson to into the warehouse. The FBI chopper hovers and fires and agents are driven in as well.
Jack takes the chance to shake off the men holding him and stagger away taking cover behind a truck. Renee wants the chopper on the ground. Tony sees that the bullets that
have been fired have let the gas out of a couple of barrels. Jack also looks over his hiding spot to see what’s going on. Tony leans out and shoots the gas on the ground causing a large explosion and creating cover so he can get into the warehouse. He crosses the open area shooting haphazardly the whole way.
Jack sees this and looks ready to give chase. Immediately he starts to show signs of pain again. He grabs his midsection and hits the concrete wall on the other side. He slides down and lands on the ground heavily. Renee’s chopper is put down and she gets out with another agent. She rounds to an SUV and says to the agent there that she needs him to get her to the green vehicle. He gets in and starts the car and she jumps up on the running board. Holding on to the roof rack he peels out and she shoots at thugs all the way there. Once she’s close, Renee jumps off the SUV and rolls to safety behind the truck. She comes out where Jack sits on the ground. Jack sits there, hands cuffed and tape still over his mouth. He turns and sees Renee and vehemently shakes his head and grunts trying to warn her off. She calls his name and he shakes his head again. She kneels next to him and pulls off the duct tape covering his mouth. “Stay away from me, I’m wired with C-4, Tony’s got the detonator.” Renee pulls open his jacket and Jack breathes in and says again, “Stay away!” She sees the set up on Jack and says that she knows this trigger mechanism, she can disarm it. She pulls out her pocket knife and Jack asks where Kim is. She confirms that Kim is safe. Jack winces and Renee says that she was the reason they were able to find him. He looks at Renee and tells her that Tony has been playing both sides all along. She has to stop him because he is trying to kill the man behind this conspiracy. Jack tells her about Wilson and that he was responsible for killing Michelle, that’s why he is doing this. Jack continues, “You wanna end this for good, you need to stop Tony from killing him, otherwise you’re going to lose any chance of exposing the others.” Jack continues to speak through a wave of pain. Renee makes the pack around Jack’s waist beep and she says it’s clear. She uncuffs Jack and they get up. Renee leads around the side of the truck with Jack staggering behind her.
Wilson walks with Cara and speaks into his phone where they are. She leads him through the back of the warehouse and he calls for an exfiltration point. Wilson wants to know how this happened, how they tracked them. Cara doesn’t know. They hear someone coming and pause, Cara sees that it’s Tony and calls to him with relief. Wilson watches her rush to him and she grabs his shoulder. She is happy to see him and says the extraction team will be there soon but they have to move. A shot is fired and Cara’s eyes widen. With her hand still on Tony’s shoulder she starts to sink to the ground and Tony is holding the smoking gun. She sinks out of sight and Tony looks past her at Wilson, not even noticing her falling in front of him.
Tony stands in place for a second and then charges at Wilson, slamming him against the beam behind him and holding his gun to his forehead. He says nothing for a few seconds and then starts, “It took me a long time to find you.” He pauses, breathing heavily, “To peel back all the layers of people you hide behind, but I stayed patient ‘cause ever since the day you had her killed the only thing that kept me alive was this moment right here.” Wilson is calm while Tony holds the gun with one hand and his neck with the other, “Hm, You sound like you were involved in some kind of a tragedy but I had nothing to do with it.” Tony pulls the gun away and hits Wilson hard in the face. He grabs onto him and shoves him back up. Tony rests his gun on Wilson’s cheek and continues to whisper, “You see, Michelle and me, had gotten out of all this.” Tony takes quick breaths, trying to keep his composure, “We made it out together and we were going to start a whole new life. ‘Till you came along,” Tony lightly taps his gun on Wilson, “And took it all away in a split second.” Tony uses both hands and brings the gun down on Wilson’s face again. He falls to the ground. Tony steps over to him, winds up and kicks him hard in the midsection. Tony watches Wilson turn over and continues, “It wasn’t just my wife you murdered.” Wilson puts his hand to his bleeding temple and winces. Tony watches him, still breathing hard, and tells him, voice cracking finally, “She was carrying my son.” Tony nods, his bruised face half in shadow. Wilson brings his hand down and Tony, crying now, yells at Wilson, “You killed my son! My son!” Wilson looks back at Tony, realizing what’s going to happen. Tony tells him, “And now, I’m gonna kill you.” Tony raises the gun and a shot rings out but it hits Tony in the shoulder, Renee has fired and Tony goes down. Jack is behind Renee coming into the open space as well. He comes up even with her and watches Tony pull himself back up onto his knees. He starts a slow crawl to his gun. Jack has his gun up and warns, “Tony, don’t move.” He’s determined to get to the gun and Jack repeats himself. Wilson in the background is half up with his hands up, palms facing Jack and Renee. Renee watches, prepared to shoot but Jack, with shaking hands, fires first. He hits Tony in the lower arm and with nothing to hold him up he rolls onto the ground. Renee closes in and Jack watches as she picks up the gun. Tony is on the ground in pain, holding his shoulder and unable to go anywhere. Agents have entered and Renee orders them to get Tony out of there. They go to him and grab Tony roughly by the arm. He doubles as they pull him up but once he’s on his feet he speaks to Jack, “These people think they can take everything away from us, Jack. Somebody had to stop ‘em.” Jack looks at his friend as he yells, “And what did you do huh? You ran away, that’s right, you ran away Jack.” Tony is trying to get Jack’s attention, to see him and Jack looks stonily ahead. “You’re one of them now, Jack, congratulations. How would Teri feel about that, huh Jack?” Jack winces in pain and Renee watches this unfold in front of her. Tony can still be heard yelling and Wilson is brought to his feet and cuffed. She turns her attention to him. Jack is overcome with a wave of pain and he moves to a wall and slides down, one hand on his gun and the other on his midsection. His hands shake and he takes short breaths.

The FBI packs up their agents and stuff. Wilson is sitting on the back of an SUV and is being stitched up over the eye. Renee watches looming in the distance. She approaches him and says that a lot of people died today because of him, including someone close to her. She tells him that he will be charged with treason and conspiracy to launch a terrorist attack. The only way for him to avoid the death penalty is to cooperate and tell her who else is involved. She will make sure that this is taken into account by the grand jury. Wilson claims to have no idea what she is talking about. Renee warns him that this is not going to work. He continues to play dumb, whatever conspiracy it is that she thinks he’s part of he guarantees that she will not find a shred of evidence connecting him to it, in the eyes of the law, he is an innocent man. Renee is not happy with this answer, she calls him a son of a bitch and she grabs Wilson by the jacket. She pushes close to him and he tells her coolly, “Anything else you need to say you can say to my attorneys.” An agent comes up to Renee and says that Bauer is ready to go to the hospital, she wanted a heads up. She turns from Wilson and walks away. He watches her, thinking intently as she leaves saying quietly, ‘Hmm.’
Jack sits on a stretcher, 2 medics around him. One of them says he is going to give him hydromorphone for the ride to the hospital. It will make him sleepy but it will break the pain cycle. Jack shakes his head and says no, please. The medic doesn’t argue but looks grim. Renee comes in and calls Jack’s name. Jack’s IV bag is hanging behind him and can be seen. He asks the medic to give them a minute and this time the medic does argue, Dr. Macer wants him at the hospital. Jack says it’s alright, she can wait. The medic walks away and Jack thanks him. Renee steps closer and puts her hands on her hips. Jack asks, “What happened?” Renee says Wilson’s denying everything, claims they don’t have a case against him. Jack thinks and then asks, “Is he right?” Renee says maybe, meaning he has no reason to tell them who else is involved with him. Renee looks intently at Jack, “But I can make him talk.” Understanding crosses Jack’s eyes and she continues that if she doesn’t find these people one day they will launch another attack and she doesn’t see how she can live with herself knowing that there was something that she could have done to stop it. Jack breathes out, doesn’t look at her. She moves right up to him looking for answers, “I don’t know what to do.” Jack blinks and says softly, “I can’t tell you what to do. I’ve been wrestling with this one my whole life. I see fifteen people held hostage on a bus everything else goes out the window. I will do whatever it takes to save them and I mean whatever it takes.” Renee watches him closely; he looks down, “Maybe I thought if I saved them,” Jack’s eyes meet Renee’s, “I’d save myself.” He half smiles, swallows and looks away. She asks him, “Do you regret anything that you did today?” He thinks and then says, no. “I don’t work for the FBI.” Renee doesn’t understand. “You took an oath, you made a promise to uphold the law, you cross that line it always starts off with a small step before you know it you’re running as fast as you can in the wrong direction just to justify what you started in the first place. These laws were written by much smarter men than me. And in the end I know that these laws have to be more important than the fifteen people on the bus. I know that’s right. In my mind, I know that’s right.” Renee is near tears and nods slightly and Jack finishes, “I just don’t think my heart could ever have lived with that.” She stares at him with wide eyes, “I guess the only advice that I can give you is, try to make choices that you can live with.” She nods more. Jack winces and looks away. Renee watches and whispers, “I don’t know what to say.” Jack looks up at her and tenderly puts his hand on her face. He reaches down and puts his hand on hers and she closes her eyes. “Don’t say anything at all.” Tears fall over her cheeks. The medic returns and says they have to go. Renee stands and Jack is wheeled away by the pair of medics. He leans his head back on the stretcher.

![]() | Taylor deals with Olivia |
Olivia paces around a room, her father sits in a chair hooked up to the IV still. Allison enters and immediately condemns Henry for being out of bed. She then notices that Olivia is upset and asks what’s going on. Henry doesn’t know, Olivia wouldn’t say until Taylor got there. Olivia explains this is going to be hard enough to say once. Taylor asks what she is talking about and Olivia says ‘Jonas Hodges.’ She comes right out and says that he is dead because of her. Taylor is upset and asks her daughter to tell her that she wasn’t the one that leaked the information. Olivia says it’s worse than that. Henry encourages Olivia to talk to them. She is lost for a second and then says that he killed Roger, Hodges killed her brother and Taylor agreed to put her in witness protection and the thought of him getting away was too much for her. She pauses and says she called Martin Collier because he told her once that he knew someone that could do this kind of thing. They ask her if she is saying that Collier hired someone to kill Hodges. Olivia says no, she did. Taylor closes her eyes in frustration and Olivia explains she tried to call it off but it was too late and everything was happening so fast. Henry asks who else knows and Olivia says Ethan. He has a recording of the conversation between her and Collier. He’s agreed not to turn it over to the AG, he will respect what Taylor decides to do. Taylor stands and grabs Olivia at the shoulders. She shakes her lightly and asks how she could do this. Olivia tried to call it off but Taylor says it doesn’t matter. Henry pipes up for Alison to stop yelling at her. Henry takes Olivia’s side and thinks that if anyone deserved to die, it was Hodges. He killed their son. Taylor asks what she is supposed to do and Henry thinks she should protect Olivia by destroying the recording. Taylor asks, frustrated, ‘And cover up a murder?’ She can’t just disregard the law. Henry asks her to spare him the sanctimony, she is Olivia’s mother. Taylor is also the President of the United States. Henry snaps, “And our family has already paid a steep enough price for that.” Taylor is shocked and asks what he is saying. Henry warns she knows exactly what he’s saying, ‘Your job cost our son his life.’ Taylor says that that is a cruel thing to say, she doesn’t think she could have done anything to prevent Roger’s death and Henry says that she can do something about this. He urges her that they have already lost one child.A knock comes at the door and Tim is there. He lets himself in on the scene, Taylor and Olivia obviously upset and he stops. He apologizes but he has news from the Bureau that she needs to hear. He adds helpfully that it’s good news. She finds her voice and says she will be out in a moment. He takes off and closes the door behind him, walking past Agent Pierce. Henry wants Taylor to go but wants her to save what’s left of their family. Olivia looks down and Henry also lets a tear go. Taylor watches for a second and then leaves the room also past Pierce. Once they are alone, Olivia takes a deep breath and asks her dad what she did. He assures her they are going to figure this out. Olivia says she’s sorry. Henry is crying as well and again says they’ll figure it out. He leans into Olivia’s hand.Tim is on the phone with Janice at the FBI. He wants Wilson held there until he gets there so he can bring him back. He will be 10 minutes and the papers and transfer order will be done by then. Chloe is packing up her stuff at the FBI and Janice says she has to work on the transfer papers, Chloe can debrief later. She offers to come back later or tomorrow. Janice asks if she is staying in town and Chloe wants to be there for Jack. Janice thanks Chloe for all her help today. In her usual way, Chloe says it was interesting, ‘Given what you have to work with you’re doing a pretty good job.’ Janice smiles and tells Chloe she is going to take that as a compliment. Chloe admits that’s what it was meant to be. She leaves. In her office, Taylor is thinking hard. She gets up from her chair and leans over her desk in her office. She sees a family photo of all four of them. They are dressed up and they are happy. A tear falls down her cheek. In the hospital, Macer looks at x-rays, assumingly of Jack’s head. She turns and walks to him. Jack lies in a slightly reclined hospital bed wearing blue scrubs. She tells him that because the pathogen was weaponized, the disease is at an advanced stage. She says she’s sorry, all she can do is administer morphine which will induce a coma, but he won’t feel any pain. Jack is obviously in pain, his hands shake but he shakes his head no. He breathes, “No morphine. Not yet, please.” Another nurse comes in and says Mr. Bauer has a visitor. Another wave of pain comes and Jack nods that it’s alright. She leaves again and Macer watches as Gohar the Imam from Jibraan’s mosque steps into the room. Jack is happy to see him and Macer steps out closing the door. Gohar comes right to Jack who thanks him for coming. Gohar admits he was surprised to get his call. Jack says evenly, “I’m dying.” Jack’s hand shakes continuously and Gohar says he knows. Jack leans back and tries to keep his composure. “I’ve made so many mistakes.” Jack, voice choking, continues, “And I always thought that I would have the time to correct them.” He winces and grunts, Gohar sits on the edge of the bed, he tells Jack, “You have the time, right now.” Jack tells him tearfully, “You don’t know what I’ve done.” Gohar explains, “We live in complex times Mr. Bauer. Nothing is black and white.” Jack’s face contorts as he listens, “But I do know this, I see before me a man, with all his flaws and all his goodness. Simply a man.” Gohar reaches out and takes Jack’s shaking hand. Jack leans back and Gohar bows his head and opens his other hand. “Let us both forgive ourselves for all the wrongs that we have done.” Jack opens his eyes. He looks at the Imam and half smiles, “Thank you.” He says quietly. After a couple of more seconds of fighting pain, Jack says, “It’s time.”7:46

Jack speaks with Gohar abou this past 7:51Coming back from the break, the two biggest screens are Jack receiving a healthy dose of morphine into his IV and Tony, shirt undone, arm in a sling. His expression is indeterminate.Henry waits in his chair and Olivia paces around. Henry tells her to sit down butOlivia can’t. The door opens and Taylor enters leaving it the door open with Pierce on the other side. They all watch Allison cross the room and she takes Olivia and Henry’s hands. She leans in and kisses Henry on the cheek and then Olivia. She hugs Olivia and then sighs. She tells them that she never imagined that this job would be so hard on the both of them. She had no idea the price this family would pay and for that she is sorry, but she has a sworn duty to enforce the constitution. Henry knows what’s coming and looks up. Failing to honour that would be the worst kind of hypocrisy. She loves them more than anything in this world and she will do everything she can to help Olivia through this but she is the President. This is what she has to do, ‘No matter how much it breaks my heart.’ She says that Agent Pierce will remand her to federal custody. Olivia rests her hand on her fathers shoulder. Pierce has come to Olivia and says he is escorting her to the justice department where she will be held until formal charges are issued. Henry leans in and kisses Olivia’s hand but looks angrily at his wife. As Olivia comes by Taylor says, “I’m sorry honey.” Olivia is led out of the room. Taylor turns to Henry and looks at him. He glares at her for a few seconds and then looks away. She turns and leaves the room.
Taylor stops outside the room and leans on a table, palms down. She stands there crying and Kanin comes around the corner. He stops abruptly at the sight of her and calls her name. She doesn’t talk to him and he turns to head off offering to talk later if she wants. She calls after him a soggy, “No.” She looks up at Ethan and says, ‘As much as I wanted to cover this up, I couldn’t.’ She doesn’t have to explain to Kanin, he understands completely. Taylor is concerned about her husband thinking the same thing but Kanin is sure he will come around in time. Taylor doesn’t think he will, she really doesn’t. Taylor mourns that she has lost her family, she has lost everyone. Kanin watches and shrugs slightly, “Not everyone.” She looks at him hopefully and asks, “You’ll take back your letter of resignation?” Kanin will, if she wants him to. Taylor nods, “I do.” He smiles and she says she needs her help, and she needs it now. She starts moving and meets him. They walk together as she tells him about Alan Wilson.Wilson is brought into an interrogation room and Renee is looking through the glass. He is dropped into a chair and the agents leave. Wilson looks relatively undisturbed by this. Janice is with Renee and says that Woods is on the way to pick him up; she needs to sign the transfer documents. Renee is upset and says nothing. Janice asks what’s wrong. She tells Janice to get out of there. Janice doesn’t move and Renee tells her to get out as she shuts down the surveillance on the room. Janice is going to stand firm until the transfer so Renee tells her to put her hands over her head, she has her gun out. She tells her to do it now. She hands a pair of cuffs to Janice and tells her to secure her hands around the pole. Janice tries to get her to calm down and begs Renee not to do this. They have arrested Wilson, she has done her job. The courts can take it from here. She wants Renee to stop now before it’s too late. Renee is preparing by taking her jacket off. Janice continues to work Renee telling her not to throw away her career, this is insane. Renee takes out her badge and looks at it. Janice pleads with her that Larry wouldn’t have wanted this. She begs her not to dishonour Larry’s death like this. Renee puts her badge down and looks at Wilson. Janice can only watch Renee go into the room with Wilson and close the door. Wilson smiles at her.At the hospital, Gohar looks in the window to Jack’s room. Heels are heard running and Kim shows up at the window. She is saddened when she looks at Jack lying peacefully in a coma. She whispers, “Daddy, I’m too late.” Macer speaks to Kim saying that he’s still alive; they induced a coma to ease him through the harsher symptoms. Kim does a small double take when she sees the Imam there and she eyes him warily as he introduces himself to her. He says he’s a friend. “We spent the last few minutes talking and I can tell you he has accepted what is happening.” Kim looks at her father and says, “Maybe he has, but I haven’t.” Kim closes the space between her and the doctor and asks about the stem cell treatment she told her about, if they can still do it. Macer tries to get out of it, “As I told you, the treatment’s experimental and the odds of success are very low.” Kim snaps, “Just tell me if it’s too late to try.” Macer says no. Kim wants to do it. Macer tries to tell Kim about the risks but Kim understands the risks, “And I know my father didn’t want me to take that chance, but it’s my choice now. And I made up my mind.” Gohar watches too as Macer dials the phone. She identifies herself and says she needs immediate access to a surgical suite. She leaves around the corner.Kim turns and goes into her fathers’ darkened room. She closes the door and walks over to his bed, sitting down on the edge. His tremors have stopped now and she takes his hand and looks at him. She starts to cry, “I’m sorry daddy, but I’m not ready to let you go.” She toys with his hand8:00

Kim with Jack
Kim tells Jack she's not ready to let him go. Miscellaneous Thoughts:-Final episode of the season, the one they’ve been promising that holds the answers to all the questions of Tony unbeliveability. We’ll see.-Kim is so hell bent on finding her father. I understand her desire to keep in out of harms way but given the situation, I think it’s safe to say that when she ended up staying in LA she made the decision to try and save him.-Either that or she wants him to die on his terms, since he seems to do everything else that way.-I hope they are done with Jack being terminally ill. I don’t know how much more of this I can take. It’s just too convincing by Kiefer and it makes me feel bad all the time.-That is the biggest wrench I have ever seen that Jack picks up in the garage.-For once, Jack can be happy he’s not that big of a guy. Tony couldn’t fit where he could.-That automatic door opener, I’m pretty sure has saved Jack before, only then it was a chain-raiser. In 6x18 when he strung up Fayed it sure looked like the same switch. I don’t know why they couldn’t have used one on the wall like every other garage has.-People argue that Tony was trying to kill Jack by shooting at him. I’d tend to believe he was just trying to distract him from getting away.-This is turning into the forklift show. But Jack could always say his forklift is bigger… never mind.-As soon as I saw the gas, I knew what Jack was going to do. Fire is the only way to destroy the virus, Jack knows, we know.-What kind of crappy flares are those? Also, Jack, it might have helped ignite them if you put the tips IN the gas first. You know, a little ignition help. But I guess his brain isn’t quite working right.-It’s so hard to know what to think when Tony saves Jack. WAHO! Tony saved Jack! DOH! He’s captured Jack! DOH! He’s going to use Jack to reconstitute the pathogen. WAHO! Jack can live to get away, DOH! He’s going to die anyway.-Did Jack honestly think he was going to be able to crawl away from Tony? Maybe he just wanted a nap.-I don’t know why but there’s something redeeming about Tony dragging Jack out of the puddle of gas. There shouldn’t be, but I can’t help it.-Pierce is pissed. The way he says ‘ma’am’ to Olivia tells us that things are going down the toilet for her. Only Pierce could make a word that is supposed to show respect sound as anger filled as that ma’am.-It’s interesting how Olivia still seems concerned about what Pierce thinks about her. Her first question after hearing that essentially, she’s going to jail, is how long he’s known. She cares what he thinks, surprisingly. I guess the bond of him saving her life is strong.-I love how Kanin treats Olivia. I think that’s because that’s how I’D love to treat Olivia, like a spoiled brat child.-I would like to state right now that I am sorry for ever doubting Kanin. He obviously has Taylor and the country’s best interests at heart. If it wasn’t apparent before it became crystal clear when he tells Olivia that this isn’t about his job, it’s about doing what’s right by the President.-Also, allowing Olivia to tell her mother about this is very proper of him.-Could Tony have left Jack in a more painful looking position? For someone that claimed to not want to hurt him that’s a pretty bad way to show it.-The infamous and much speculated on deleted scene called ‘Tony drags Jack’ actually showed Cara arriving at the garage where Jack was knocked out. Tony sends her on an apparent menial task of going to physically check out the nearby cell tower to make sure Jack didn’t make any calls. He then drags Jack away from the gas. When I finally saw it I felt like he did that so he could be alone with Jack and explain himself somewhat.-I can’t help but feeling terrible for Jack. I mean, all he wants is his friend to tell him why he’s doing what he’s doing. Maybe Jack is thinking about trying to talk him out of it if there’s a window. That may be why he wants Tony to look at him, to see what his betrayal has done.-Oh, shining light!!! Tony saying “I have no intention of letting them use you to reconstitute the pathogen, Jack”! And the hope door opens ever so slightly. Of course, Tony strapping C4 to Jack essentially slams that baby closed and locks it up tight. But for a few seconds there, there was hope-wonderful, glorious hope.-You can also see Jack with some little bit of hope in his eyes at Tony talks about this being a play-Okay, so let me get this straight. Alan Wilson ordered Charles Logan who ordered Philip Bauer who ordered Graem Bauer who ordered Christopher Henderson who ordered the guy that Jack killed at the industrial yard in 5x01 (I’m too lazy to go look up his name) to kill David Palmer. Wow, they’ve really given this assassination legs, haven’t they? That was 3 seasons ago now. (I’m not really sure to be honest the order of orders here. Graem took responsibility for the order when Jack interrogated him, but Logan, well, Logan was complacent but he didn’t give the order pre se, he just knew about it.-Gee, I wonder if this was supposed to work like a game of telephone… wouldn’t it have been funny if they accidentally killed Hamish Clamers instead of David Palmer? ‘What, that’s what I heard-what did you hear? DAMMIT!’-I can just see them all sitting around now. Graem: I ordered the hit on Palmer.Phillip: No, I ordered the hit on Palmer.Henderson: NO, it was me!Wilson: “Actually, I think I can take credit for this one.”Logan: “No, Me! For the good of the country.”Sherry: “Ah, no, Alan, it was me!”Wayne: “What? How dare you! I did it, he was at my apartment.”David: “Dammit, guys. It was me. I just couldn’t stand all the hits out on me; I thought I’d beat you all to the punch.”-So, can we assume then that Phillip Bauer/BXJ was part of this infamous Red Dot Group? He worked with military contracts so that makes sense. As well as Henderson and/or Omicron.-Okay, so, the Tony speech kind of sums up a bunch of stuff here so bear with me as I work through it. First and foremost, Tony’s original plan when going after Wilson was twofold. A) Expose Wilson and the Red Dot group that are extremely corrupt and working against the government, evidenced by him saying, “I’m the one that had a plan to bring them down.” Also, his ulterior motive was B) Kill Wilson once they were exposed for his role in the assassination of Michelle. Ultimately, he did expose Hodges and stop the bioweapon attack. Tony took the other canister to lure Wilson out of hiding. I guess when Bill’s set up fell apart and Tony was exposed as a ‘traitor’ he knew that he’d lost his chance to expose the rest of the group so he went after Wilson for his own revenge. He ended up not being able to expose the rest of the Red Dot group that worked with Wilson. Jack did get in the way ultimately but it would have been interesting to see what would have gone on if Jack hadn’t gotten involved. The FBI has Wilson now, so maybe if Renee is successful they can get some info out of him which might redeem Tony a bit.-Interesting how right back to Episode 1, Tony told Jack not to get involved in this on the phone in Schecters place.-I’m not sure I agree with Jack that it’s as simple as personal revenge with Tony. Yes, right now, killing Wilson is about revenge, BUT, initially, it was that and bringing down these guys. If things had gone the way Tony planned, I can’t see this many innocents dying.-Here’s a thought. Tony ultimately set out to do what Jack does, only on a larger scale. Jack talks about it at the end of the episode where to save 15 people on a bus he will do anything and all the rules go out the window. How many lives would Tony save by bringing down the Red Dot Group if he managed to succeed? Millions probably. So how many people have to get hurt or die for that to happen? He’s breaking the rules to save lives.-Still not really sure if Tony was actually working for Emerson at one time or another. I doubt he would have the presence of mind after everything that happened in Day 5 to try and work his way up the conspiracy. I can see, though, that as he started to see what was going on for real, he would get his personal vendetta on.-I’m with Tony, to be honest, all the way up until he’s going to strap explosives to Jack. That’s where I get off the psycho train.-Speaking of trains, the attack on the train was stopped but it also served as a way to get rid of the rest of the pathogen so the Red Dot Group wouldn’t be able to make more and kill more people.-But, on the other hand, look at it this way. Tony knows the only way to eliminate the virus completely is basically fire. He doesn’t want Wilson to be able to replicate the virus using Jack but he does want to kill Wilson. Jack is going to die anyway. So, Tony blowing Jack up to kill Wilson achieves quite a few of his goals. He would be sure Wilson can’t use Jack, Wilson would be dead and Jack also would be dead. But killing Jack sucks.-It’s somewhat reassuring that he enlisted Bill and Chloe to help him bring down the conspiracy and not to have them thrown away or to further his own agenda. They were there to bring down the Red Dot Group (RDG).-Tony is right that he did most of the legwork bringing up the resolutions to the threats. Jack had to run them down but Tony brought them to him.-So, I’m thinking that there was no ‘source’ for the information on the WH attack. I’m betting that Tony was his own source and he used those hours to check in with Cara.-For me, this episode is about Tony. Yes, Jack’s storyline is interesting but I’m all about Tony here. And having Carlos Bernard and Kiefer together in these firecracker scenes just make them so much better. A lot of the reason I am buying what Tony is selling in this episode is because of the way Carlos acts this. I would call his episode easily his best performance in the 6 years he has spent on this show. He steals every scene he’s in.-There’s something I love about Jack and Tony so close together when Tony is putting the belt around Jack. I don’t know why but seeing them together just gets me all charged up.-Not sure that I love the ‘Damn you Tony’ line. I don’t think that it’s the delivery, but I think Jack would have head butted him instead of talking to him and tried to get free.-Jack is so right that Michelle would not stand behind Tony through this.-I knew ahead of time that Michelle had been pregnant and I think the writers missed a huge moment by not having Tony tell Jack about it. He may have at least been more sympathetic and been able to do a better job of talking him down. Granted, when the reveal does happen, it comes from a powerful and emotional place. Maybe they could have talked about it after or something.-That’s a hard and brutal look that Jack gives Tony as he’s duct taped and watching Tony with Cara.-So, Tony sees this as not only a personal mission for vengeance but also a self-assigned operation to take down the RDG.-I think Jack is so hard on Tony because he feels personally betrayed by Tony using him to further his own agenda, for not bringing him in. If he hadn’t used Jack to get to his end, he might have had a different reaction.-So, does this answer what Tony wanted to tell Jack on the phone before they went to the cargo yard? Was he going to tell him something to do with this?-Also, in Season 5 when Tony was at the CTU clinic he also said he really needed to talk to Jack. Could it have been to tell him that Michelle was pregnant - did they plan it this far in advance. Originally Tony was supposed to have been upset enough to try and kill Henderson and Jack was going to have to kill Tony ala Curtis Manning. Did they have the baby in mind then?-I see regret in Tony’s eyes in the way he has treated Jack. He doesn’t want to leave him there; he doesn’t want to blow him up. He stays behind when Cara walks away; he only has eyes for his friend. But his need for vengeance is more powerful than his caring of Jack.-Tony’s not too torn up about not telling Wilson about him and Cara. I wonder if she didn’t want to tell him because she had a thing with Wilson.-I’m interested to know what Wilson’s stake in this whole thing is. Who is he and what company is he part of?-Wilson’s got some serious security there.-I guess he’s had lots of practice, but Tony does a great job pretending to respect Wilson.-They didn’t pull the keys out of Tony’s pocket? Just his cell and the guns? That’s kinda weird.-So, as far as I can tell, the show ‘going green’ meant that they didn’t print of any reports, everything came in on PDA’s. That’s pretty much it.-Another attack of the quietest chopper ever. How did they not hear that until it was right on top of them? Very Season 2.-They must have had a fire sale on black material for the Tony/Cara/Wilson meet. All of them are wearing black.-Only Jack Bauer who is chained, duct taped and going to die in a matter of hours could shake off 2 perfectly healthy goons and get away.-How did those barrels not get blown up the first time they were shot? Only when Tony shoots them did they go.-Again, during the FBI arrival I was finding myself cheering for Tony to be okay.-Annie Wersching has said repeatedly that her favourite stunt of the season is the one where she gets to ride on the side of the SUV and kill people. I’m assuming the roll is a stunt double, but it’s all pretty darn cool.-Oh, poor Jack. This is why Kiefer is magic. He can express more with a grunt and an expression than most actors can with a whole page of dialogue. I nearly die inside when I see him react to Renee when he’s on the ground tied up.-So, Jack admits that Tony is still somewhat good, that he’s been ‘playing both sides all along’-that he’s kind of good and kind of bad.-Renee couldn’t even help Jack up? I mean, the guy’s got hours to live and she just runs away from him.-Exfiltration is not a word according to Microsoft Word-unless I’m spelling it wrong.-Way to keep the relationship with Tony on the D.L. there, Cara. Fail.-Tony, that’s COLD! I was shocked that he killed her like that, right in front of him. That answers the question I had earlier about Tony’s motives. I was thinking that if he is doing this all to avenge Michelle, it just seems wrong that he’s doing one of his co-conspirators on the side.-Then he steps right over top of her to get to Wilson. That’s pretty symbolic, actually. He had to go through her to get to him.-I don’t want to overanalyze Tony’s speech to Wilson because it was so well written and acted. This was such a season highlight, Carlos Bernard really opened up and got some dynamic moments. He nailed them all.-Anyone watch The Incredibles? “You got me monologuing! I can't believe it...” Since he was just going to use Jack to blow him up anyway, why did he have to talk so much? At the same time, I think he wanted Wilson to know what was going on, especially since it was a little more personal than a bomb.-Wilson is just so sly and cool about everything. Not letting anything go.-As much as I hate award shows because the right people never win, I would love to see Carlos win something for his work on 24 this season – just this episode was unreal.-The tie in to the past seasons was great in Tony’s speech, especially the reference to getting out of all of it from Season 4.-Those hits Tony put to Wilson were hard, especially the one that knocked him over. He really wanted him to feel the pain.-Line of the week on sheer delivery: Tony to Wilson: "YOU KILLED MY SON! MY SON!" Just typing that almost makes me cry.-So, Michelle was pregnant. I think that adds a lot of depth to her death and a lot more reasons for Tony to be doing what he’s doing. He still isn’t in the right, he never could be, BUT, knowing what we know about Tony and his personality, it makes it a lot more feasible. Tony has always been emotional and a romantic, just look when Saunders had Michelle hostage, he was willing to do whatever it took to get her back, contrary to Michelle when Tony was being held. She couldn’t go against CTU to free him. Jack was a little more like Tony when Teri and Kim were taken, but with less of an overall effect since there weren’t hundreds of innocent lives on the line.-I’m going to assume that Jack heard Tony yelling at Wilson about this, although he showed no reaction. That brings Tony basically on par with Jack to what he’s lost due to being part of CTU. They both lost a wife and child, Jack lost Audrey as well essentially. Jack was taken and tortured by the Chinese. It’s an interesting parallel and seeing Tony as the mirror image of Jack is sensible. Jack still has Kim to keep him grounded, at least he will now.-I listened to the commentary with Carlos, Jeffrey Nordling (Larry Moss) and Howard Gordon (showrunner) on episode 7x18 and Howard Gordon made an interesting point. He believes that Kim is the only thing that keeps Jack from doing exactly what Tony is doing. Kiefer, on the other hand, disagrees with that assessment. HoGo didn’t elaborate but I sense it’s because Jack has a very high respect for the government and for some reason is called to serve it, even when sometimes he doesn’t seem to want to. He will always try and serve the greater good.-Tony must win the prize for the most gunshots and survival in a single season. He took 3 bullets in the last 6 hours.-I think they made the right choice not letting Jack kill Tony. Knowing what we know about Jack I just don't think he could do it. Remember Nina? It took her getting a leg up on Kim for Jack to do it, and she killed his wife. He had a couple of chances before that to kill her and he didn't. I don't believe that he could pull the trigger on Tony to kill him. Yes, he betrayed him, yes he killed inncent people, but he was one of his only friends. Yes, Jack killed Henderson in cold blooded revenge, but I think that Jack is coming back around now, coming full circle. Henderson and Jack had a past and also Henderson had tried to kill him a few times in that day, including seconds before Jack killed him I thnk Jack now is trying to redeem himself and get back to a place where he was in Season 1.-I can’t tell you how happy I am that they didn’t kill Tony. That would have been downright terrible. They bring him back from the dead just to kill him again, awful. This way, he’s alive and who know what will happen, maybe he’ll come back. I’d be more than happy to see him again as long as they don’t kill him again. My long-time readers will remember the fit I threw when they killed him the first time. I’d rather have him in jail somewhere and alive then on the show and dead. And I can’t explain that, I don’t know why that is, but it is.-Wilson looks like a monkey sitting on the ground with his hands up. I can’t help but look at him and try not to laugh.-They could have gotten Tony up another way, couldn’t they? They pulled him up by the shoulder that was just shot. Ouch much?-I loved that Tony had to get the last words in to Jack. The things he yelled at him as he was dragged away were powerful and really showed what he believes, and how much he believes it. They are in the same situation.-I tried really hard to pull what Tony said to Jack after he mentioned Teri. The very first time I saw it I thought I heard it, I was able to stay with him longer but I can’t pull it now.-It’s hard to believe that all that stuff has happened in the first 23 minutes of the episode. There’s still more than half to go. It’s a finale thing, I guess.-I don’t know if I can get to the idea that Wilson was behind Larry’s death. I guess it’s not that much of a stretch. Wilson wanted the canister and it had to come from Tony/Galvez. Moss and Tony were together and Tony had to kill Moss to get away. I think they’re both responsible.-Tony did a great job on Wilson. Those are some nasty bruises.-Renee is about to learn what Jack and Tony learned a long time ago. The right way does not always get the right outcome. Wilson will walk based on the fact that there isn’t any evidence unless she can get it from him. In real life, I am not pro torture, but this is 24. Also, I have never been confronted with these kinds of situations. It’s easy to be a couch quarterback but real life is not this simple. I think 24 does a great job of that.-Wilson is plotting something for Renee already. Those little ‘Hm’s’ are very very telling.-Renee sounds a lot like Jack when she talks about not being able to live with another attack happening if she could have stopped it.-So, after the whole day of butting heads with Jack, for possibly the most important decision of her life she asks him what she should do. And he has no answers.-I know there is some kind of extended version of this Jack Renee scene out there because the transition from talking about the bus to Jack regretting what he did today is like slamming the car into reverse when you’re going 30 in the other direction. I was left kind of scratching my head on it wondering where it cam from.-I love the insight into Jack when he talks about the people on the bus and saving them. It’s interesting to hear it from him lips directly.-Oh, my heart bleeds: “Maybe I thought if I saved them, I’d save myself.” SO gut wrenching. We don’t get a lot of information on Jack’s motives that we haven’t seen for ourselves. Very rarely does he talk about his inner voice, his headspace. Such an incredibly tortured man.-Also, it’s interesting that Jack says he doesn’t regret anything he did today. How about trusting Tony? Bill’s death?-I think I know why they don’t let us inside Jack’s head that often, it’s such a sad place. Listening to him talk to Renee is one of the saddest pieces in this shows history. It tells us so much about Jack and his internal ideas, where he places himself in the world.-Line of the week contender: Jack to Renee: “I just don’t think my heart could ever have lived with that.” -Why he has done basically everything he has until now. His conscience wouldn’t let him let people get away with killing 15 people on the bus if he didn’t do whatever it took to stop it. He needs to do something. Jack in a nutshell over 7 seasons.-There has been a call for Jack to have kissed Renee in that scene. I couldn’t disagree more. I would want anything more than what I just saw. Jack shows that he cares for Renee but there’s no way they can build a relationship off of what’s happened today. Not to mention the fact that he’s dying, real soon.-Nice goodbye between Jack and Renee. I’d be shocked if she didn’t show up at the hospital though.-I would pay almost anything to see Jack and Tony have a conversation. Just one conversation, right now, before Jack goes to the hospital and Tony is taken into custody. All I want is resolution, DAMMIT. I guess Jack has himself to worry about but still, just like 1 minute of discussion, that’s it.-Taylor’s line to Henry about why he’s out of bed was borderline cheesy.-As much as I don’t really like Olivia, I felt that Sprague Grayden did a marvellous job here.-Taylor’s physical reaction to Olivia’s confession is great. Not too much, not too little.-I love Taylor, she made the right choice. Too bad her husband can’t see around everything. I agree that Hodges did terrible things, but this is going to kill Taylor’s administration.-Just going to take a sec and draw a parallel line between Season 1 and Season 7. Keith Palmer killed someone because of what he did to his sister. Olivia killed someone because of what he did to her brother. Both President’s essentially made the same decision, to tell the people about it and let it come out.-Too bad Palmer’s dead – he and Taylor would make an incredible duo to work together. Could you imagine that Pres/VP pair?-Henry puts down a low blow on Taylor about Roger’s death.-Tim is hilarious. You can see his expression when he enters, “Oh, shit. Should have waited for the green light.”-I love how he adds that it’s good news from the Bureau. Cute.-Nice little wrap scene with Chloe and Janice. Chloe ends up complimenting her after all.-Well, at least someone wants to be there for Jack.-This finale has lots of crying. They weren’t kidding when they said it was an emotional ending. Criers: Olivia Taylor, Allison Taylor, Henry Taylor, Jack Bauer, Renee Walker, Tony Almeida, Kim Bauer. All in one hour.-That was a fast round of x-rays they did on Jack.-We’ve seen Jack getting patched up before, seen him on the way to the hospital, but never actually seen him IN the hospital.-Again, I’ve been hearing lots of complaints about Jack’s choice of visitor. I will defend it for this reason: Jack feels like he needs forgiveness, redemption, from a higher power, whatever that may be. He has had very little contact with anyone in North America over the past couple of years, really, since before Season 4. After Season 4 he was on the run, then Season 5 he was with the Chinese and then Season 6 he was travelling, running from his past. He connected with this Imam and he is a good man. Who else is he going to call? I think he’s just looking for peace of mind, for someone to tell him that its okay and the things he’s done are not what should define him.-I love watching 24 on BluRay but this scene really made me hate it. I could hear the tremor in Jack’s hand because the sound was so clear. It made it even sadder.-Line of the week contender: Jack to Gohar: “You don’t know what I’ve done.”-After Jack profiled Gohar earlier, it told us a lot about his character that he basically said that nothing is black and white. Jack was right too.-Good writing for Gohar. He reminds all of us that Jack is ‘simply a man’. Yes, he does all kinds of crazy things but in the end he’s human.-I loved hearing the word ‘goodness’ when Gohar describes Jack. He is a good man and it’s easy to forget that in everything we see on this show.-Wow, it didn’t take Jack long really to forgive himself for everything. There must have been a cut there.-Tony looks really eeeevil in that shot of him sitting there. At least they patched him up somewhat.-I also would have liked to have ‘been there’ when they put Jack out. WAY rather would have done that than more Olivia. But I know the storyline needs to be tied up.-So in like, 11 hours, Olivia violated national security by spilling information to a reporter and killed a man. Good start.-I enjoy the irony that Pierce is the one that takes Olivia into custody. Nice work.-The POTUS is SO sleeping on the couch tonight. I wonder what the secret service protocol for that is.-Poor Kanin, Taylor just forgets about him completely.-Hey, he did get his job back in the end anyway.-For the record, I really like the name Ethan.-About bloody time that Ethan came back, BTW. He should have been called back in as soon as they realized Jack didn’t kill Burnett and Meyer.-Taylor recovers pretty fast and gets back to work.-I’ve always sensed some kind of history between Taylor and Kanin. I wonder if they are going somewhere with this since Henry probably won’t forgive her. I hope not, it’s kind of cheesy.-As much as Janice annoyed me throughout the season, she really does stand by what she believes in. Whether I agree with her or not, I have to respect that.-Renee is channelling Jack there: Do it NOW! Nice work.-Janice really knows which buttons to press on Renee. Larry was anti-torture and anti-prisoner abuse. She really is doing the opposite of what he would want. Renee stands with Jack on this one.-I would just like to say now that I’m not a big fan of ambiguity in a season finale when we have to wait until JANUARY for any kind of answers.-Jack looks so peaceful, we’ve seen Jack knocked out before but this is somehow different. Probably because he’s not lying on the floor somewhere and being held by hostiles.-Kim sure knows how to make an entrance, the noise of her heels would wake the dead... sorry, was that a poor choice of words?-So after everything Kim comes to see Jack die, against his wishes. She also consents to the procedure, against his wishes. I’m not exactly complaining because I want Jack to live, but I just thought I’d point that out.-Also, I would just like to say for the record that I called this over a month ago. Check my post from the 24 forum from April 11th:142966.14 in reply to 142966.13
“Yeah, that's kind of what I envisioned as well. Jack not allowing Kim to help and fighting through it until he is too weak to stop her.”Another one I hit dead on:

"I'm interested to know what she [Kim] is doing in DC? Was she checking out the hearings? Hoping maybe to catch Jack and make things right? "Have I been watching this show too long?-Kim’s wariness around the Imam is interesting. Still her father’s daughter. Trust no one.-I guess Kim does have the right to decide for Jack now, is that how it works? If it’s a coma by choice do the rules change? I guess he never signed any paperwork on it.-Now who’s stubborn, Kim?-Interesting how Gohar is silent in this. He doesn’t give Kim any ideas on what he thinks she should do when really, he has the best insight into Jack’s emotional state right now than anyone.-Again with the ambiguity. I know they wouldn’t have time to deal with the transplant and the after effects in the context of the show, but I really want to see what happens. We never got to see Jack find out about Teri and I’d love to see him wake up with Kim, Teri and Kim’s husband all standing there. I know that’s so not 24, but can’t he be happy?-So, after all the flack Kim takes, she saves the day, saves her dad. Kim is my hero, she gets redeemed from all the crazy stuff before by saving Jack’s life now.-Interesting that Jon Cassar talked about the last line being from someone we meet in the last 4 episodes and it will be ‘You need to…’ I’m assuming that was supposed to be Gohar to Jack that he needs to either let go or forgive himself or maybe to Kim that she needs to let him go. But who knows. It got changed in the editing process and confused us all.-Speaking of Cassar - great directing in this episode, a good way to say goodbye - But I'd rather he didn't!-Nice thread for the season, nice theme from the prequel, redemption. In the end, that’s what is the running thread through the whole thing. Jack is looking for redemption for what he’s done, so is Tony. Kim, Renee, Buchanan for not being able to torture Burnett. Well done.-This episode also had redemption qualities to me... redemption of the last 6 episodes.-Speaking of the last 6, I feel like since Tony went bad, the episodes to me were really about him. Jack's stoyline is important, but Tony's is pivotal. This is the only time for an extended period that I have cared about another character more than Jack. I can't see another character that I could ever feel that way about again, either. It's too bad because I believe Tony (Carlos Bernard) could have carried this show if, God forbid, they ever wanted to phase Jack out. He proved it with this episode. I don't see another character that we care about enough to do that with. Kind of a waste.-One last thought. Overall, I’m not married to the Tony the Terrorist twist, but the way it all worked out I can stand it. I love Carlos Bernard and I’d love to see him back next year for some more redemption. He needs to live still, but I’d love him to come back.*All stories, characters, plots and ideas © 20th Century Fox. No infringement intended or implied.*
