I’m going to give you the honorable mentions first, but before I even start, I’m giving an honourable honourable mention to the line that we never heard…whatever it was that Jack whispered to Nina in the field (5:00pm-6:00pm). The reaction from that was great but I couldn’t in good conscience add it to the list because we don’t know what was said. 

So, without further adieu here are the runners up: 
1. Jack: “So Chapelle’s on board with us?” Tony: “Not exactly.” – not exactly indeed, on board, unconscious, whatever. – (5:00am-6:00am)
2. “I don’t want to shoot you just yet but I will if I have to.” – Nina as she threatens Jack in the field. I think the ‘just yet’ says it all…in other words I plan on it, just not now. (4:00pm-5:00pm)
3. “None of this is good news, Mike” – Palmer – An accurate analysis of the events. (11:00pm-12:00am)
4. "You are going to tell me everything I want to know or I swear to God I will I will hurt you before I kill you, and no one will stop me, do you understand me?" – Jack while he is interrogating Nina, well, actually, while he’s holding her by her neck against a wall. (1:00pm-2:00pm)
5. Lynne: “He’s not gonna like that, sir.” Palmer: “That’s his problem” – Well, Palmer is the president so I guess it is the other guys problem. (1:00am-2:00am)
6. “Even though you don’t agree with me your standing by means a great deal.” – Palmer to Mike. This happens after we know Mike is working against Palmer but before Palmer knows. It would have meant a great deal had he actually stood beside Palmer. (3:00am-4:00am)
7. “M as in Mamma” – Tony while giving information to Jack over the phone - M as in WHAT? Does Tony want to go home to his mamma? (8:00pm-9:00pm)
8. “Please tell me your kidding” – Mason’s response to being told that Jack drugged the other agent, Ed, and left with Nina. (2:00pm-3:00pm)
And now, the top 24 lines from season 2: (drum roll please)
24. “I’m gonna need a hacksaw” – Jack to George Mason after he kills Marshall Goran. I think those of us familiar with the first season knew what Jack was about to do…(8:00am-9:00am)
23. “Abort the attack.” – Prescott – The words we’d been waiting to hear from the time it all started, what wonderful relief. – (7:00am-8:00am)
22. Jack: “How much longer do you need?” Yusuf: “A minute or two.” Jack: “What is it, one or two?” Yusuf: “One if you stop bothering me.” – At the clinic when Jack notices that the guys are there for the chip. I like this because even in the middle of everything the writers can still find time for a joke or something to make the viewers smile. (2:00am-3:00am)
21. “I think he wants to talk to you” – Jack to Ronnie – The ever smart-ass, even while he’s strung up naked and about to be tortured. (2:00am-3:00am)
20. “He’s got some trust issues” – Jack of Yusuf Auda to Michelle. Gee, I wonder why he might have trust issues? Because the people he’s supposed to be working with have shut him out maybe” (11:00pm-12:00am)
19. “And here we are without a deck of cards…you know I was down at Benning when Samuels tried to recruit you, he was real disappointed when you turned him down. Said you were a born killer…is that true?”– Jonathan Wallace to Jack while they wait for Kate and Yusuf. I guess from what we know it might be true, but it’s weird hearing someone saying it. (12:00am-1:00am)
18. “It felt pretty personal when you killed my wife.” – Jack to Nina as she holds him hostage, she tells him that it never was meant to be personal. (5:00pm-6:00pm)
17. “We will not start a war on false or incomplete evidence” – Palmer – He decides and stands is ground for the long haul. (12:00am-1:00am)
16. “I know, Jack, I was there.” – Tony – One of the few references to what happened during and after Jack found Teri last season. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’d have really liked to see or hear more of what happened with Jack and the others after last season and before this season. (8:00am-9:00am)
15. “Well, it’s like this…either fire me or get out of my chair.” – Tony to Chapelle – Well, it looks like Tony, after all that he’s been through in the day, can still have some guts and attitude. The good news is, he gets his chair. (7:00am-8:00am)
14. “Because your worse than a traitor Nina you don’t even have a cause you don’t believe in anything, you would sell anyone and anything to the highest bidder so stop wasting my time, give me a name!” – Jack while interrogating Nina – Another perfectly delivered line where Jack moves from hate and loathing straight to anger. (1:00pm-2:00pm)
13. “I think a nuclear bomb pretty much affects everyone” – Reza panicking at CTU…he knows he’s innocent. (4:00pm-5:00pm)
12. “Whatever he broke he’d better fix.” – Kingsley to Raymond as Ronnie tries to revive Jack. Unfortunately, medicine isn’t that simple and Jack can’t simply be ‘fixed’. (3:00am-4:00am)
11. “If these guys are dead…. Who’s tracking the bomb?” – CTU Agent to Jack when they find the Coral Snakes dead, killed by Wallace. (8:00pm-9:00pm)
10. “None of this was supposed to happen this way, the bomb was never supposed to go off.” – Sherry Palmer to Jack as she leaves him stuck in the SUV. Her tone of voice and desperation are good indicators that she didn’t really want this to happen. (7:00am-8:00am)
9. “We’ll make sure he doesn’t turn the gun on himself.” – Jack to Nina when she is preparing to go and see Mahmud Faheen. I love the ruthless tone it was delivered with as well. (2:00pm-3:00pm)
8. “My heart stopped when Kingsley’s men were interrogating me.” – Jack explaining to Sherry what’s wrong with him after he collapses. Well, that’s an…um…colourful interpretation of what happened. Heart stopped, they killed me…whatever, but ‘interrogating’? That’s not what I would call it. (6:00am-7:00am)
7. “Those men out there are trying to kill us, doesn’t that prove something?” – Kate Warner to Jack after Kingsley’s men try and kill them and Wallace. Well, Kate, that’s probably the smartest thing you said all season (actually, I don’t think there’s a probably about it!). (1:00am-2:00am)
6. Sherry: “For the first month we met at a hotel in Hilton head, I didn’t sleep with him” David: “I didn’t ask” – Talking about Sherry’s involvement with Roger Stanton. (9:00pm-10:00pm)
5. “So what are we saying here…if we save LA from a nuclear bomb then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie, is that it?” – Tony to Michelle. I love this office romance. (5:00pm-6:00pm)
4. “If your looking to bond here dad, having your son arrested probably isn’t the best way to do that.” – John Mason to George Mason after he’s brought into CTU in cuffs. He has got a point. (2:00pm-3:00pm)
3. “Hey, hey, service is bad enough on this flight, you don’t have to shoot me.” – George Mason to Jack after he pops out of his hiding spot on the plane carrying the bomb. In the face of death Mason is still a character. (10:00pm-11:00pm)
2. Reza: “Look, my fiancée just left me on my wedding day because I’m sending her father to jail and since he’s my employer I think that pretty much means my whole life’s in the toilet, so why don’t you cut me some slack.” Richards: “There’s a nuke somewhere in this city and if you don’t give me something useful in the next hour I’ll take you back to CTU and chain you to the roof so you can have a front row seat when the damn thing goes off” – Reza’s got a good point, but so does Richards. (5:00pm-6:00pm)
1. “Sunday before you killed my wife... Teri and I went down to the boardwalk in Venice...just watching all the rollerbladers and musicians... laughing at the crazy people.... spending time together. And Teri sees this snow cone stand... she giggles like a kid and takes off running and she wants to get in line, she wants one... I remember I watching her I just... I couldn't help myself. Then I look up at her and she's talking to this old lady in line behind her and the two of them were laughing and I remember thinking to myself 'how the hell does she do that? How does she strike up a conversation with an absolute stranger and…and they just start laughing like they've been friends forever.' That's a gift...I remember thinking, God I wish I could do that...but I can't. That was Teri, my wife. That's what you took from this world, Nina...that's what you took from me, and my daughter. I just wanted you to know that." - Jack to Nina. (3:00pm-4:00pm)
