Mistakes

-Season Two-
Moving Chain
-In the 9:00am-10:00am episode Jack heads to Joe's auto shop. After he talks to 'Cowboy', he follows him towards the back of the store, meanwhile, he drops his chain down his shirt. When he runs into Eddie and stops, he notices the guys behind him, as he looks back, you can see the chain back out of his shirt again. Active one, isn't it?
Jack says what?
-It seems as though the name Syed Ali was giving Kiefer Sutherland some problems. In the 5:00pm-6:00pm hour he says what would probably be best spelled ‘Seyeed Ali’. He does fix it to the proper pronunciation but then in the 11:00pm-12:00am episode he calls him ‘Syad Ali’. Apparently, that’s quite the mouthful for Sutherland.
Is Carla dead?
-She really is just about the most active dead person I’ve ever seen. In the 2:00pm-3:00pm episode when they open up the trunk she is laying one way, but then when the camera flashes back, her arms are in another position. They move a third time as well, but it may be back to the original position.
Techie with a cold
-At the end of the 8:00pm-9:00pm the bald bomb tech either says there is ‘plutotium residue’ in the bomb case or he has a cold. Either way it sounds wrong.
Speed demon Kate
-In the 12:00am-1:00am episode Jack pulls into a parking lot to find out who is following them. He pulls in and the car following does as well. In about 3.2 seconds Jack manages to explain to Kate what to do, get out of the car, get Kate behind the wheel, and she manages to drive out and around the block to stop the following car from getting out. Isn’t that a bit ridiculous? I don’t even think in that amount of time he could have explained to her what he wanted her to do.
Gary’s mysterious Band-Aid
-While he is at the hospital in the 1:00pm-2:00pm episode Gary still has a band-aid on his head from when Kim hit him. In a shot not long after it’s there, it disappears and you can see the cut, but never fear, it returns shortly after.
The Amazing Healing Man
-I’m not sure that this is so much a mistake, but it’s as frustrating as Jack rising from the dead. Tony severely hurts his ankle, but in less than 12 hours he’s hobbling along without the aid of crutches, in fact, at times he’s barley limping at all. I know that this is necessary at times for the story, but from the point of view of someone that has torn ligaments in their ankle, I just don’t see it happening.
The Amazing Healing Car
-We can put Tony behind the wheel of the blue Chevy that Jack drives to Joe’s place in the 11:00am-12:00pm show. Jack kills Eddie in this car about 15 minutes beforehand. When Jack arrives at Joe’s place, the windshield has been cleaned, the car is also clean and it appears to be back to normal.
AND The Amazong Healing SUV
-There must be some magic in the LA water. The 12:00am - 1:00am episode has Jack taking Kate Warner out of CTU. He manages to get out of the gate at CTU in the SUV but only just, it's so close in fact that the side-view mirror is torn off the SUV. Every time we see the SUV after, though, the mirror has magically healed itself. (Thanks, Mars for this one!)
Post-Torture Problems.
-After Ronnie kills Jack in the 2:00am-3:00am show and they cut him down, the lighting keeps changing. It seems like there are 2 sets of lights at work here, a dark set that’s mostly blue, and then there’s a light orange-y set. It’s a very blatant difference.
-While they are trying to revive Jack in the 3:00am-4:00am episode on the floor they shock him repetitively. Between the shocks, his head moves. At one point he’s facing forward and then they go back and he’s off to the right.
-Finally, they show Jack while they shock him, but if you look you can see that he is (quite obviously) wearing a pair of black pants. They look like sweats, faded black sweats.
Cabinet Kafuffle
-At the end of the 2:00am-3:00am episode, Lynn is trying to get out of the room that Mike has her locked in. In the split screen she breaks open a cabinet and looks inside. In the first few minutes if the 3:00am-4:00am episode she takes a fire extinguisher and breaks open the same cabinet.
Moving Pieces
-In the hour of 1:00am-2:00am while Jack is leaning on the counters by the x-rays of Wallace, they move. At one point one of them is upside down, but then it moves back to right side up.
Reel to What?
-At Hewitt’s loft between 4:00am and 5:00am there is a reel-to-reel. The first time we see it, when Jack looks around the loft, there are two reels on it. After that, any other time it is seen, there is only one.
ESP
-How does Kate know all the information about Jack and his family? He says Kim’s name in the car at one point, but it wasn’t to Kate and at that time she didn’t even know it was his daughter. Then, later on when he asks her to pick up ‘his daughter’ she says that she will indeed pick Kim up. Then, after she does pick Kim up, she talks about Teri’s death with Kim. Kate doesn’t use Teri’s name but she knows that her mom died.
Kim’s crossing
-In the 7:00am-8:00am episode when Kim and Kate arrive at CTU Kim is standing with her arms crossed. Then, the camera goes to a different angle and they’re not crossed. It’s very slight and you have to be looking, but it’s there.

Points to Ponder
-Season Two-
-Season Two-
-If Nina had killed Jack, Palmer would have been at fault since he called Jack in to work today?
-Strange question – think Gary would have sexually assaulted Kim and/or killed her in the end if all this hadn’t happened?
-I hope that we see Agent Baker again. He was a good guy that was everywhere all the time. No fuss, no muss. He gets points.
-Keith tells David in the first episode when he asks about Sherry ‘she puts on a happy face, but I know she’s hurtin’ – the kids always know, don’t they? It takes us until the end of the season to hear Sherry actually say this, but it is confirmed that she is hurting over the break-up.
-In the first episode Tony asks Michelle to bring Noel and Grothie in, it was supposed to be their day off. It worked out well that one of them was supposed to get Kim for Jack, didn’t it? I wonder if they were in the blast…
-Did anyone ever call aunt Carol and tell her that Kim wasn’t coming?
-I wonder what Reza’s parents think of Marie now? Originally their only concern was that she’d been with another man, he happened to be invited to the wedding.
-From the first time we see Reza we are set up to believe that he is bad, that’s what I love about these people that write this show, mind games, always mind games.
-We had two people that got epinephrine, Paula in the early shows and then of course, Jack.
-It’s interesting that Mike was anti-sherry, and pro holding Ron from the start but then at the end he’s probably the one that told the others about Ron.
-I’d bet Ralph Burton feels bad about going home and letting Paul Coplin finish with Kate. What was the point of that, anyway?
-If Jack had gotten away with Nina after they left the furniture store what would he have done?
-I wonder what Jack would have done today? Sit at home and ponder life without Teri and Kim? Maybe he would have been dead soon anyway.
-In the beginning Bob tells Kate that their mother would have been proud of them both, her and Marie. Interesting.
-Palmer says of Stanton “everyone breaks eventually”. This is reiterated while Jack is hung up and tortured, Ronnie says it too. Weird coincidence.
-Mike and Lynn were both right about Sherry, she’s bad…but she’s good, too, I guess.
-Lynn and mike were also right that Palmer shouldn’t go to LA. All the really bad stuff started then.
-Bob Warner SO stole Jack’s line – he says, “I love you too sweetheart” to Kate in the 9:00am-10:00am episode. Recycled lines.
-If Michelle worked for Keri at division, how did Michelle advance ahead of Keri? In a culture so fixated on bribery and behind the back negotiations Keri should have advanced quickly
-I really do believe that Tony is an extremely sensitive guy. He has a soft spot for Jack after what happened to him, he also feels bad about Paula…he’s a good guy, I think he’s a keeper for Michelle.
-Wouldn’t it be great if John Mason and Kim hooked up? They could spawn a new generation of CTU agents…
-Mike and Lynn both witnessed Palmer ready to go to war before he was confronted with the doubt of the Cypress Audio being a fake. He initiated the contact and wanted it before he spoke to the nation. I really can’t believe that he would go to that extent to get him out of office
-Michelle started the investigation into Cypress, her stubbornness, even if it may have been to refute Keri, but it turned out for the best.
-Jack told Ali about his son being alive before he died. Nice touch.
-Lynn didn’t like Mike going behind Palmers back at all, from the top when he wanted to contact Jack…funny how that spiralled.
-Mike tries to convince Palmer that Jack has suffered psychological problem with everything. I don’t think that Palmer would ever buy that no matter how crazy Jack was acting.
-Upon reflection, having Jack trying to save Kate from getting on the plane with Wallace would have been a lot easier than what actually transpired.
-Tony is just emotionally all over the place and it’s not cool. He was mad at Michelle for about 20 minutes but then he was fine.
-What was the point of the ‘civil unrest’? There were 2 deaths, but it happened for an hour and then just disappeared. It was probably just filler but it was kind of annoying.
-When was the chip damaged that contained the source files? Was it Yusuf? The rednecks? I’m really curious
-Did Jack decide when he left the clinic that he didn’t have time for shoes? It only would have taken another thirty seconds or so.
-I wonder how Palmer would feel about the whole Lynn thing, I’m sure that if Lynn survives he’ll find out.
-What was up with Kate sending the cop home? Nothing became of that. What a waste of a great set-up. I realize that it was so she could meet Kim, but why did they open that door if they weren’t going to utilize it?
-It took 23 and ¼ hours for something good to actually happen to Jack. The guy with the SUV that Sherry and him hijacked didn’t fight with them, he just handed it over.
-I’m not sure I can believe that someone with as much power as Prescott can be as closed-minded as he is in a situation like that. Same with Chapelle, but I’d be willing to accept that Prescott has been turned…but then again, he allowed the note about Jacks stance, but it’s a bit scary.
-If Mason was hiding out in the plane the whole time, why would he have put Jack and Kim through all the emotions that he did?
-Upon reflection, I was right about romance between Michelle and Tony. I called it. The good news is neither of them were moles which I speculated about. Good, I’m glad I was wrong.

-Gaines asked Mandy about a job “next summer” and if she would be interested. She originally said no, but when held at gunpoint after Bridget was killed she agreed. According to the book A Day in the Life season 1 took place in early March. ‘Next summer’ would be about now since the producers say that season 2 takes place ‘about a year and a half’ after the first. That makes season 2 late August, early September.
-What about Reza’s passport, didn’t the PI decide that his passport connected him to Ali? Was Marie doing business with Ali while Bob and Reza were out of town together?
-So, who did take down the ambassador’s chopper?
-What about the wedding guests? Are they just standing around waiting still? I assume someone would have heard it on the news by now…
-Nina’s scars, Nina’s scars, Nina’s scars…what was the point of them? Why did we see them? I’d like to think that this assures us that Nina will be back, but I know better.
-So then, what was the point of Bobs CIA connection? It didn’t materialize into anything except speculation of a corrupt agent…

-Was Jack lying to Kate when he promised her she wouldn’t get hurt as they left with Wallace? What did he have in mind?

-How did the guys that tortured Jack get into the clinic so easy? Also, that was an exceptionally convenient little sound-proof (or pretty close to sound-proof) room.
-How did Ronnie earn Kingsley’s confidence? We got a small amout of their background, but then it went away. I guess it doesn’t matter since they’re both dead, but I was just curious.

-What is the real objective here? There must be something bigger than the war here, how could Palmers assassination in the US create a war? The only way I can think of that working is they try and credit it to another country somehow…either that or they are in control of someone high up that could take over for him…hmm, interesting. Do they want total chaos? There must have been something going on anyway to have Mandy on standby like that, but maybe not.
